Qatar’s trade surplus jumps by 62.2pct

(MENAFN) Qatar’s trade surplus surged by 62.2 percent or QR4.2bn in Jan on year-on-year and reached QR11bn, while the trade balance surplus increased by almost QR0.2bn.
In Jan this year, the whole exports of goods, involving exports of goods of local origin and re-exports, amounted to almost QR20.3bn, an increase of 16.2 percent.
However, the imports of goods in Jan 2017 reached almost QR9.3bn, a decline of 12.9 percent over Jan last year.
In the cited month of the year, Japan was the top destination of Qatar’s exports with QR4.4bn, trailed by S. Korea at QR3.5bn.
