(MENAFN) The currently under construction massive shopping mall in Qatar, set to be one of the largest malls in the region upon completion, had its developer announce that the USD1 billion project will not be affected by low oil price.
As the managing director of the project stressed, although the decline in the oil price had dented spending on luxury goods by Russian and Chinese tourists in Dubai, it was not at all affecting the Qatar huge project.
The mall is set to open next August, hosting 500 stores including a Carrefour hypermarket, plus 5-7 percent of the space will be preserved for high-end luxury, and 20 percent for restaurants and other food and drink outlets.
