(MENAFN) Ras Al Khaimah Free Trade Zone (RAK FTZ) plans to invest in infrastructure projects as part of its expansion plan to cover the growing demand, according to Gulf News.
Peter Fort, chief executive, said that the RAK FTZ plans to incorporate health care segment into the academic park in a mega plan expected to start in the first six months of 2016.
The health care project will include nursing schools, labs and wellness facilities to support the emirate’s flagship Shaikh Khalifa Specialised Hospital, which Fort said is “opening in the next year.”
The USD 272 million flagship hospital was funded by a grant from His Highness Shaikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the President of the UAE and Ruler of Abu Dhabi.
