(MENAFN) Egypt’s revenues from the Suez Canal grew by 0.7 percent to USD440mn in May, compared to the USD436.8mn revenue of May last year.
In the Jan-May period of this year, revenues dropped 0.4 percent to USD2.063bn, against USD2.071bn in the same period of last year.
However, the country has been struggling to revive its economy since the 2011 uprising, which scared away tourists and foreign investors.
Moreover, Suez Canal have reached USD5.005bn last year, marking 3.2 percent less than 2015 whole revenues, amid which revenues reached USD5.175bn.
