(MENAFN) The Chief Executive Officer at Royal Jordanian (RJ) said that the kingdom’s flagship carrier’s on-time performance of at departure and landing has increased during the month of August to 90 percent, compared to 84 percent during the same month of 2009.
According to the CEO, the airline was able to improve the on-time performance of its scheduled flights despite the increase in the number of passengers, flights and flight hours.
He pointed out that the company transported about 300,000 passengers in August, 4.3 percent higher than the 285,000 passengers in the same month of last year.
The increase in the number of flights also meant an increase in flying hours of the 30 aircraft in RJ fleet. The total flight hours grew to 9,983 from 9,766 during the comparison period, marking a growth rate of 2.2 percent, he said.
