S. Sudan to complete new airport terminal in June

23 Mar 2012

(MENAFN) South Sudan’s Deputy Transport Minister Mayom Kuoc Malek said that the country will complete a new airport terminal in June that would boost the country’s position as an independent oil producer, reported Arab News.

Te deputy said that the projects financin was secured, after funding problems and other snags prevented its completion in time for independence celebrations last July.

It is worth noting that over twenty airlines serve Juba International Airport, mostly from African neighbors such as Kenya and Ethiopia, and South Sudan has long wanted to replace the elderly airport building, with its poor security and long bench instead of a luggage carousel.
