(MENAFN) Salalah Port is projected to grow due to the continuing investment in multimodal transport infrastructure in Dhofar Governate, specifically in the general cargo segment, Oman Observer reported.
However, its long-term success hinges on a solid obligation to its timely expansion and modernization, according to the hub’s newly appointed chief executive officer.
CEO, Port of Salalah, said, “Over the 16 years that the business has operated it has achieved a remarkable 600 percent compound growth and has confirmed its position as a world class port.”
He added that the company must focus on developing infrastructure and equipment at the general cargo terminal. With the government’s infrastructure investments and our own investment in new facilities, equipment and new projects at the Salalah Free Zone, the company will see double digit growth in local cargo volumes.
