(MENAFN) Abdul Latif Jameel Energy proclaimed that it has issued USD65mn in funding in order to build and operate a new solar farm at Al Sawafi in the north of Jordan.
Furthermore, the Jeddah-based firm proclaimed that funding the 51MW Sawafi 1 project has been offered by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development.
Additionally, Spanish contractor TSK has been employed to carry out engineering, procurement and building work on a system that will house more than 200.000 photovoltaic panels.
The loan has been offered to a special purpose car, Al-Safawi for Green Energy, which is 70 percent owned by FRV and 30 percent by Amman-based Arabia & Trading Co.
