(MENAFN) King Khaled International Airport’s (KKIA) director general, Abdullah Al-Tasan, said that last year, passenger traffic at the airport grew by 10.2 percent from 13.87 million in 2010 to 15.27 million, reported Arab News.
Al-Tasan added that the number of international passengers rose 11.6
percent from 2010 to 7.44 million, whereas that of domestic passengers went up by 9 percent to 7.83 million.
On the other hand, air freight movement increased by 9.1 percent to more than 257,000 tons, compared with 236,000 tons in the previous year.
It is worth noting that KKIA plans to increase its passenger terminals and runways to meet the requirements of growing passenger numbers and wide-bodied planes.
