(MENAFN) The Saudi Communications and Information Technology Commission (CITC) said that by the end of September, the number of mobile phone subscribers in the country grew by 200 percent to 56.1 million, reported Arab News.
The CITC added that 87 percent of that number was prepaid cell phone subscribers, moreover, the number of land phones reached 4.52 million, including 3.34 million residential lines.
It also said that broadband services through landlines surged 30.6 percent, and total broadband services in the country hiked by 40.5 percent, moreover, internet service grew by 46 percent with an estimated 13 million users.
It is worth noting that broadband services in the Kingdom rose notably with 2.13 million users connected through a landline network and 11.5 million users through mobile phones.
