(MENAFN) The Saudi religious tourism sector will be a main beneficiary of economic growth and development in the kingdom under Vision 2030 and the National Transformation Program 2020.
Accordingly, religious tourism has been a major focus and will continue to be, capitalizing on the large infrastructure investments over the last decade in Makkah, Al Madinah and Jeddah.
Meanwhile, the kingdom is planning to enhance the number of Hajj and Umra pilgrims by 39 percent and 150 percent, respectively by 2020.
In addition, this initiative will be a key growth driver for firms working in this sector such as Saudi Airlines Catering, SGS and Al Tayyar, while the net income of these firms will grow between 4.3-17pct this year.
