(MENAFN) Saudi Arabia announced it has launched a project to construct its first industrial city for women, which will be built in the eastern region of the country, to make it close to neighboring oil-rich Gulf countries, Emirates 24/7 reported.
According to the Ihsa chamber of commerce and industry, the project, named “The Oasis of Ihsa Cities”, is the first of its kind in Saudi Arabia and that the city, which will be located near Ihsa airport, will have state of the art industrial facilities and that all these facilities would be confined to women.
The Chamber said that the aims at attracting investment by women in the world’s largest oil exporter, and that the Saudi industrial property authority (Modon) is overseeing the execution of the project, though it did not give any details regarding the expenses of the project.
