12 Jul 2016

(MENAFN) Spending on outbound tourism will be cut by 50 percent, whereas the number of Saudi tourists leaving the country recorded an increase of 39 percent in 2015.

Additionally, the upward trend of out-bound tourism was attributed to a number of factors involving soaring prices and low level of services.

Accordingly, some 4.5mn Saudi tourists spent almost USD35bn last year in foreign countries, which will increase to more than USD100bn in 15 years.

Meanwhile, the volume of money spent on the outbound tourism touched USD25.62bn last year compared to USD18.46bn in 2014.
