(MENAFN) The Saudi Ministry of Water and Electricity plans to adopt cutting edge lighting solutions to cover the growing demand on electricity and reduce its wastage, according to Arab News.
As part of the ministry’s plan to save 40 percent of the consumed energy, it has awarded USD3.7 billion-worth projects.
Saudi Arabia will hold one of the largest and most functional energy exhibitions in the region, Saudi Energy 2014, to show the latest products and services in power sector.
Fahad Al Athel, deputy general manager, Riyadh Exhibitions Company, said: “The Saudi Ministry of Water and Electricity is on the look out for new technologies and innovative lighting solutions which can tremendously decrease electricity consumption and its waste thereby reducing the burden on non-renewable energy resources.”
