(MENAFN) The number of Saudi tourists going to the UAE has been increasing gradually over the years, which also led to relations between the two countries to improve, due Saudi tourists becoming a main player in boosting the UAE economy, Arab News reported.
The numbers of Saudi tourists reached 1,128,757 to Dubai, while the number of Saudi visitors to Abu Dhabi was 70,765 in 2013, and Saudis have begun exploring new cities in the Emirates as well like Sharja and Ras Al Khaima.
Meanwhile, Saudi buyers have accounted for between 4 and 5 percent of the annual turnover for UAE business, with the figure expected to reach between 5.5 and 6 percent in 2014.
“This year, Atlantis witnessed an increase of 15 percent in the number of Saudi tourists who visited the resort with their families and friends during Eid Al-Fitr, compared to the year 2013. In total, Saudi tourists spent more than 20,000 nights at the resort during the first half of 2013,” Regional Director of Sales at Atlantis, The Palm.
