(MENAFN) UAE and Saudi consumers spent USD 6.85bn on beauty and personal care products last year, with spending in the two Gulf nations ready to grow 8 percent in 2016 to reach USD 7.4bn.
Accordingly, the trade value of the beauty and personal care market in KSA was USD 5.21bn last year, whereas in the UAE, shoppers spent USD 1.64bn.
Moreover, in KSA, the lion’s share of sales in 2015 reached USD 1.7bn, trailed by hair care (USD 697mn), skin care (USD 635mn) and color cosmetics (USD 503mn).
The two countries united contain a quarter of the whole Middle East and African beauty and personal care market, which had a retail value of USD 27.1bn last year, rising 5.4 percent over 2014.
