(MENAFN) Saudi unemployment rate is down 11.7 percent, 5.9 percent among men and 32.5 percent among women, Arab News reported.
Total unemployed Saudis came down to 650,000, including 258,000 men and 392,000 women, according to the Department of Statistics and Information (CDSI).
In 2013, a report said that unemployment rate among men is 6.2 percent and 34 percent among women. Experts attributed the increased unemployment rate among women to high percentage of new graduates and lack of appropriate jobs for them.
Saudi bloggers generally did not agree with the statistics of the department and one blogger wrote “The total number of unemployed Saudis will be more than a million,” another said that the actual figures would surpass six million.
