(MENAFN) A Syrian government official said that the country’s economy is starting to recover as a number of factories resumed production in various sectors, Xinhua reported.
The said that focus should be given to the textile and foodstuff sectors as export of their products can help boost the country’s foreign exchange reserves.
Following three years of struggle in Syria, oil production has dropped to 14,000 barrels per day from 380,000 three years ago.
The tourism sector in the country, also a crucial sector for the economy, has come to a stop due to the crisis in the country.
