(MENAFN) Total credit extended by Omani banks, involving Islamic financial institutions, grew by 8.9 percent to OMR22.1bn by the end of Jan this year.
Moreover, credit to the private sector alone grew by 10.6 percent to OMR19.9bn as of the end of the cited period.
In addition, the household sector reached at 46.2 percent, followed by the non-financial corporate sector at 45.6 percent and fiscal corps at 5.1 percent.
Whole deposits of Omani banks recorded an increase of 6.7 percent to OMR20.6bn by the end of Jan, over the same period in 2016.
