(MENAFN) UAE’s Hatta Customs Centre announced that during the January-June period, trade between the country and Oman through the Hatta Border Crossing soared 183 percent, reported Emirates 24/7.
The center said that the border recorded a total trade value of USD2.85 billion between the two Gulf countries during the mentioned period, up from USD1 billion in last year’s same period.
Dubai exported USD898million worth of products to Oman, whereas its re-exports reached USD1.38 billion, and imports were at USD571 million.
It is worth noting that the number of cleared customs declarations surged 74.5 percent in the first half of 2012, reaching 150,000 up from 86,000 declarations in 2011’s same period, including export, import, re-export, transit and temporary admission declarations.
