UAE announces 1st military vehicle
21 Feb 2011
(MENAFN) His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum announced the launch of the first military vehicle made in the UAE, reported Gulf News.
The Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai and Minister of Defense said that the tiger armored vehicle was manufactured by Nimir Auto Company, Tawazun subsidiary in Abu Dhabi.
Shaikh Mohammad Al Maktoum said that the Armed Forces and Ministry of Interior of the UAE are expected to ink deals with the Nimir Auto Company to purchase the vehicle since it meets the exact requirements of the UAE Armed Forces.
The all-terrain vehicle is equipped with the best telecommunications and remote-sensing and weaponry. Experts said that it is able to compete with the US Humvee, which is considered the number one military vehicle in the world.
It is worth noting that the defense experts in the Arab, Gulf and Africa countries are showing strong interest in the UAE-made vehicle.
