UAE exports to South Korea up 31% in 2010

(MENAFN) Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry reported a 31 percent increase, year on year, in South Korea’s imports from the UAE, amounting to USD12.2 billion in 2010, reported Arabian Business.

The report showed that the UAE exports goods to South Korea that exceed the UAE’s imports from the Asian country by USD6.7 billion.

The chamber also reported that the number one exported item from the UAE was electrical machinery and equipment which accounted for a fifth of exports at the value of USD1.1 billion, followed by ships and boats at the value of USD748.7 million.

In addition, the exports list includes other main items that were significant in the two country’s bilateral trade including aluminum exports at USD256 million, copper at USD63 million and glass at USD14 million.
