(MENAFN) Gulf Pharmaceutical Industries (Julphar) announced that it has opened its USD136 million Julphar Diabetes plant in the emirate of Ras Al Khaimah (RAK), reported Khaleej Times.
The plant, which will manufacture and commercialize diabetes products, will have the capacity to produce 1,500 kilograms of insulin, around 45 million vials annually.
Eight years ago, the firm started producing insulin from insulin crystals that the company imported from Europe; however, at the current time, the company produces the crystals in the UAE.
It is worth noting that the company will increase capacity according to demand.
