(MENAFN) UAE’s Ministry of Labor announced that for the eighth straight year, the country would impose a ban on working at open construction sites between 12.30pm-3.00pm during this summer, reported Emirates 24/7.
It added that the measure, aimed at protecting workers and avoid job accidents and illnesses, would start from mid June until mid September.
It said that businesses and employers must abide by the rules, adding that those who violate the rule will be subject to severe penalties that include the postponement of new work visas in addition to paying fines.
It is worth noting that all employers must inform workers about the banned hours through boards in Arabic as well as other languages, moreover, there must be enough cold water for all workers, in case they had to work during the banned time.
