(MENAFN) The UAE decided to raise its clean energy target from 24 percent to 27 percent by 2021 as part of its commitment to global efforts to fight climate change.
Accordingly, the UAE’s internal plan to apply the Paris Climate Deal in which 197 countries committed to cut carbon emissions to limit global temperature rise to 2C.
The country recently has raised the target to 27 percent in order to generate energy from sources like nuclear and solar energy, which will minimize carbon emissions.
Moreover, the UAE started in June developing the UAE National Climate Change Plan, which will set a global framework for climate action.
