(MENAFN) UAE’s Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA) said that by the end of 2011, the country might start reducing telecommunications rate, reported Emirates 24/7.
The TRA added that it made recommendations to Etisalat and Du, the country’s two operators, after around three years of work on the issue of price and competitiveness.
It also said that the authority would establish a main internet server in the country before the end of the year, which would come as part of a strategy to improve the network and ensure quicker data transfer.
It is worth noting that the TRA will not admit new operators to the UAE in the coming four years; however, it would implement a plan for market liberalization in 2015.
