(MENAFN) Al-Futtaim Motors managing director, Simon Frith, stated that the company was not affected by Toyota’s production halt in Japan’s units due to the recent earthquake, as supply in the UAE was not affected directly, reported Arabian Business.
Frith said that Toyota would not resume car production until Thursday as the auto maker currently focuses on aiding relief works in the region as well as ensuring safety of workers and their families.
Frith also said that most of Toyota vehicles that the UAE’s Toyota franchise receives and sells are manufactured outside of Japan and thus shipments were not affected by business suspension in Japan.
Firth said that the only concern the company has on a financial level is the concern for a setback in the economy as a whole.
