(MENAFN) UAE’s Dnata announced it has registered revenue, including other operating income, of USD1.2 billion during the April-September period of this year, an increase compared with USD1 billion registered in the same period last year, Emirates 24/7 reported.
Danta, which continued to grow its international business as well as increase its investments in infrastructure and operations which now cover 38 countries, said that it registered a drop in its overall profit by 26 percent to reach USD92 million, due to a number of reasons including the impact of the runway enhancement works at Dubai International Airport.
Dnata said that airport operations contributed USD388 million to its revenue, an increase by 3 percent compared to the same period last year, despite a drop of 1 percent in the number of aircraft handled by Dnata, which reached 140.582 planes, while the company’s in-flight catering operation contributed USD280 million to its total revenue, which is an increase by 15 percent.
Revenue from the company’s Travel Services operation had a contribution of USD238 million, up 161 per cent compared with the same period last year, due to the company expanding its international offering with the acquisition of Gold Medal in the UK, which helped the division increasing its underlying net sales by 29 percent to reach USD1 billion.
Meanwhile, Dnata’s cargo handling division registered a growth as well with revenues reaching USD175 million, an increase by 18 percent due to an increase of tons the company handled by 3 percent to 835.979 tons.
