(MENAFN) Du’s chief executive, Othman Sultan, said that in the second quarter, the telecom’s company’s profit rose 51 percent to USD112.6 million, of which USD56.3 million went to the government as royalty fee, reported The National.
Sultan added that the increase in second quarter’s profit resulted from a growing number of subscribers which reached 4,775,900 in the quarter, after adding 171,100 customers during the period.
He also said that revenues in the quarter went up 28 percent from last year’s same quarter reaching USD591 million, adding that the increase in the number of postpaid customers contributed with 44 percent in revenue growth.
It is worth noting that almost a quarter of the growth in mobile revenue for du is attributed to the growth in average revenue per user (ARPU).
