UAE’s DWC airport handles 89,729 tons of cargo in 2011

(MENAFN) Dubai Airports said that in 2011, the Dubai World Central (DWC) airport handled 89,729 tons of air freight, reported Gulf News.
It added that DWC’s average monthly air cargo volumes reached 7,477 tons, compared with 795 tons recorded during the airport’s first half year operations
in 2010.
It also said that aircraft movements were 8,198, of which 44 percent were commercial cargo flights, 55.5 percent were test and training flights and 0.5 percent were general aviation operations.
It is worth noting that in 2011, DWC’s first full calendar year of operations, 36 airlines operated into the airport, mainly as cargo charter operations.
