(MENAFN) UAE’s Etihad Airways said that due to a planned strike by the UK border agency staff, the carrier cancelled three flights on the London-Abu Dhabi route this week, reported Arabian Business.
The company added that the flights that were canceled were EY019 from Abu Dhabi to London Heathrow, EY020 from London Heathrow to Abu Dhabi and EY017 from Abu Dhabi to London Heathrow, whereas Flight EY011 from Abu Dhabi to London Heathrow would operate with less passenger capacity.
On the other hand, the Abu Dhabi-based flag carrier said that flights to Manchester would operate as scheduled, however, Etihad persuaded passengers to consider traveling on alternative days.
It is worth noting that up to 18,000 passport and immigration staff plan to carry out a 24-hour strike which will take place on Wednesday in protest of changes made to their pension plans.
