UAE’s Etihad posts USD3.2b revenue in H1

(MENAFN) UAE-based Etihad Airways has posted more than doubled growth in revenue and number of passengers in the first six months of the current year, according to Arabian Business.

The company’s revenues totaled USD3.2 billion during the period, which is 28 percent higher than the same period in 2013.

The Abu Dhabi-based airline’s number of passengers reached 6.7 million in the first half compared to 5.5 million in the same half 2013.

Etihad Cargo also reported a 25 percent year-on-year rise in carried freight and mail during the period, which reached 268.713 tons.

In the second quarter alone, the company carried 3.5 million passengers and 140,892 tons of freight and mail, which are believed to be main reason behind the growth.
