(MENAFN) UAE-based supermarket chain Lulu Group plans to launch halal-only outlets in Malaysia worth USD200 million over the following two years, according to Arab News.
Lulu has 110 supermarkets and hypermarkets across the Gulf, Yemen, Egypt and India, and plans to further expand in South Asian markets.
Lulu signed an agreement with Malaysia’s Federal Land Development Authority (FELDA), a state-owned development body, for its expansion projects.
Yusuff Ali M.A, managing director of Lulu Group, said: “With a population of over 29 million, Malaysia needs quality halal-only hypermarkets and we will be the first to operate 100 percent Halal hypermarkets there.”
