(MENAFN) Nakheel properties said that in the first half of 2012, the company would start expansion operations on the Dragon Mart Mall through adding 1.7 million square feet of retail space, reported Gulf News.
The developer added that the extension would also include entertainment outlets for families, in addition to cinemas, food court, gym and a large supermarkets and department stores; moreover, it would include 5,000 parking slots.
It also said that it would also develop a community retail centre for the Discovery Gardens by adding 140,000 square feet of convenience stores and a recreation centre, furthermore, the company also planned to add a community retail centre to the Jumeirah Park through adding 50,000 square feet of retail space that would also include convenience stores.
It is worth noting that constructing malls in addition to expanding existing ones would be an easy way for developers to generate income.
