(MENAFN) The UAE’s Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA) said that it has no plans to issue a license for a third telecommunications operator, reported Arabian Business.
The TRA added that at the current time, both Etisalat and du are meeting the requirements of the local market.
It also said that Etisalat and du operate in different segments of the UAE market, with du mainly providing fixed-line services in areas, including Dubai’s free zones.
It is worth noting that recently, a website reported that the TRA would allow a third telco operator to enter the UAE market in 2015.
