(MENAFN) The UAE Federal National Council (FNC) revealed statistical figures showing that the unemployment rate in the country stood at around thirteen percent, reported Arabian Business.
These figures were based on the definition of the unemployed as anyone older than fifteen years who does not have an existing job and is looking for one.
Data shows that women and young nationals account for the majority of the unemployed in the country.
It is worth noting that the unemployment rate in the oil-rich country is still high even though the government allocates 69 percent of federal jobs to nationals.
