Unemployment rate in Egypt falls by 11.98pct in Q2

(MENAFN) The official unemployment rate fell to 11.98 percent of the whole workforce in the second quarter of the year, down from 12 percent in Q2 of the recent year.
Recently, the whole workforce in the country reached 29.183mn people in the cited quarter between April and June, up by 33.000 from the first quarter of this year.
In addition, the number of unemployed citizens reached 3.496mn people, showing 11.98 percent of the total workforce.
Furthermore, unemployment in urban areas reached 13.6 percent, down from 13.7 percent in the first quarter of this year and 14.1 percent in the second quarter of 2016.
