(MENAFN) GoNabit.com’s chief executive and co-founder, Dan Stuart, said that the Middle East’s daily deals website, was sold to LivingSocial, the US internet giant, reported The National.
Stuart added that GoNabit, the Dubai based company, which offered group buying deals for various businesses that included salons, restaurants and hotels, had operations in the UAE, Egypt, Lebanon and Jordan.
He also said that GoNabit’s biggest deal was an offer for discount rooms at the Banyan Tree hotel in Ras Al Khaimah, which prompted USD360,000 in transactions, moreover, in 2010, the website saved consumers more than USD5 million.
It is worth noting that LivingSocial, the second largest player in the US market, runs a similar website as GoNabit, in addition, the website purchased Ensogo, a deal site in Thailand and the Philippines, and DealKeren, an Ensogo company based in Indonesia. Moreover, LivingSocial has also started operations in the Netherlands.
