(MENAFN) US officials said that the US administration would be expected to announce the sale of F-15 fighter jets to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia with a value of USD30 billion, including 84 new ones, reported AP.
The officials added that the administration got the approval from Congress a year ago, for a 10-year arms deal with Saudi that worth USD60 billion, adding that the agreement included F-15s, helicopters and a broad array of missiles, bombs and delivery systems, in addition to a radar warning systems and night-vision goggles.
On the other hand, they also said that the deal raised concerns from pro-Israeli lawmakers; however, US officials reassured Congress that Israel’s military edge would not be negatively affected by the agreement.
It is worth noting that the deal enhances the military strength of Saudi, which is a chief US ally in the Middle East.
