USD497m spent in Dubai via Visa cards during DSF 2012

(MENAFN) Visa Vue Travel Data said that during the Dubai Shopping Festival 2012 (DSF), international visitors to the country spent over USD497 million using Visa cards, compared with USD406 million in the same period a year earlier, reported Emirates 24/7.
The company added that the growth represents a rise of 22 percent from 2011.
It also said that cardholders from Russia, Saudi and the US were the main spenders during the DSF period, contributing more than USD320 million to the UAE economy.
It is worth noting that USD19 million was spent on overseas Visa cards during DSF 2012’s first week.
