(MENAFN) A spokesman the multi-billionaire Richard Branson said that the head of Virgin Megastores is still interested in introducing the Virgin Mobile service in other Arab countries, even though the service had its license suspended in Qatar, reported Arabian Business.
The statement comes after the Qatari Supreme Council of Information and Communication Technology (ictQATAR) ordered that all Virgin Mobile branded SIM cards must be de-activated by early August 4.
The spokesman added that ictQATAR did not gives reasons for the sudden decision.
Despite the setback, the spokesman assured Branson’s interest in more Middle East expansions as the region is still rich with opportunities and has great business potential.
