(MENAFN) Yemeni banks in Aden told the central bank in a letter that they will close for three days after armed robberies.
On Thursday, armed robbers had broken into a branch of Al-Ahli Bank in Aden, attacking a banker and a security guard, after similar attacks in the southern province.
The letter sent from the 12 affected banks to the central bank said: “We hope there will be a serious response to the attack and the perpetrators will get arrested and tried.”
However, the city of Aden is under the control of the Security Belt, the force taking part in civil war in which more than 10,000 people were killed.
