(MENAFN) Kuwaiti telecommunication operator Zain said that it has received an offer for most of its Africa businesses, which represent a key market for the mobile phone company, Reuters reported.
The company said in a statement that the offer covers its operations on the continent outside Morocco and Sudan. However, it did not say who made the offer.
Kuwait’s al-Rai newspaper earlier reported that India’s Bharti Airtel had made a bid for the African operations, without naming its sources.
Zain said its board plans to discuss the offer and will release additional details as appropriate.
