(MENAFN) Qatar’s tourism and hospitality industry will build momentum as it enters the second half of the decade, with 4mn visitors by 2020, helped by USD 40-45bn worth of sector investment.
The Gulf state market views its spreading hotel and tourism infrastructure trailing a successful 2015 with visitor numbers growing to reach 2.2mn in Q3, with an increase of 7.7 percent.
Accordingly, Doha, Tracking Progress’, travel and tourism contributed USD 4.2bn, or 2 percent to the GDP in 2014, with a number of USD 4.6bn forecast for 2015 (an increase of 7.3 Pct).
“Looking further ahead, this is expected to grow annually by 4.7 percent, to reach USD 7.2bn in 2025 as Qatar works towards its strategic goal,” said Exhibition Manager.
