Terminal in Oman’s Sohar port will be agro-commodities hub

(MENAFN) The agro-bulk terminal proposed for the Sohar port is expected to handle 700,000 tons of grain products for the Public Authority for Strategic Food Reserves (PASFR).

The executive commercial manager at Sohar Industrial Port Company told Times of Oman that Oman International Container Terminal (OICT) is to build the port and it will be operated by Oman Flour Mills upon completion.

The agro-bulk terminal and a sugar refinery are expected to be operational within 18 months after the construction begins.

He added: “The terminal will handle the import of 1 million tons of raw sugar for the Oman Sugar Refinery.”
