(MENAFN) Concerns rose in the UAE over an increase in wages that was imposed on companies in India and the Philippines as it might lead to an increase in these countries citizens in the UAE, reported The National.
The increase in wages imposed at the Asia market was a result to the increasing inflation that left workers unsatisfied with their salaries.
Reports showed that salaries in India are expected to rise 12.9 percent this year, up from 11.7 percent last year.
It is worth noting that workers from India and the Philippines were an important part to the region’s development, especially in the construction and the services sectors.
