(MENAFN) Markus Heimbach, head of ABB’s global transformers business, said that the power and automation technology group signed a contract worth $27 million with Oman Electricity Transmission Company for the purpose of supplying energy efficient power transformers in Oman, reported Times of Oman.
The 125 megavolts ampere (MVA) transformers are set to be delivered and installed by the company at various substations in the Oman power grid in 2011.
Heimbach said that the supply of the company’s energy efficient transformers would help in reinforcing the reliability of the grid as well as assist in easing the flow of further supplies of quality power.
It is worth noting that ABB is a leading company in around 100 countries in the fields of power and automation technologies. The company provides utility and industry customers with the power to enhance their performance while decreasing environmental impact.
