BBK CREDIT CULTURE PROGRAMME LAUNCHED

BBK, Bahrain’s pioneer in retail and commercial banking, has announced the launch of its Credit Culture Programme, a high-level technical training programme designed to further strengthen BBK’s credit risk framework and establish a unified and shared credit culture across the entire BBK Group. 
The intensive Programme, which is being delivered using high standard learning techniques in liaison with a specialized international training provider, commenced in October 2019 and is expected to conclude in June 2020. The Programme participants included 70 employees associated with Risk Management, International Banking and Corporate Banking from the Bank’s Bahrain Headquarters, regional representative offices and overseas branches.
Commenting on the launch, Dr. Abdulrahman Ali Saif, Deputy Group Chief Executive Wholesale Banking Group, said: “A strong credit culture is an important element of the credit risk management and can determine the sustainable success of a bank .”An internal credit culture guides all banking operations; providing a structured and disciplined approach to the Bank’s credit and lending decisions in order to align strategy, people, processes, technology and knowledge. 
He added: “This programme is a strategic initiative designed to support the Bank as we further elevate our credit business, and is aligned with our goal to nurture an effective credit culture throughout the Group that will support our robust credit risk framework.”
Mr. Hassan Burshaid Group Chief Human Resources & Administration Head said: “The strength and dedication of the BBK team is key to the Bank’s longevity and future success and as such we invest heavily in training and development initiatives that enhance their knowledge and skills and support their career development.”
He added: “ This initiative was designed to maximize on the current Credit Risk Management knowledge of the team and to ensure that this knowledge is effectively shared throughout all levels of the Bank. As such we ensured that each batch of the programme included participants from different functions and seniority levels throughout the Group so that each participant brought a different perspective and experience, making it a very rich learning environment.”
