(MENAFN) Tawfig Bin Fawzan Alrabiah, Modon Director-General, said that the authority plans on connecting Saudi industrial cities by rail, reported Arab News.
Modon, the Saudi Industrial Property Authority, and in order to further enhance the process of industrialization, especially the industries operating in the non oil sector, has started a 3-month study project with a foreign company on the rail-linking of Saudi industrial cities.
Alrabiah said the authority is aiming towards easing the transportation of goods and shipping. He also said that study is supposed to give adequate information that would establish the basis for connecting industrial cities and building new ports in some.
It is worth noting that over 3,000 industrial projects are taking place at the moment in the industrial cities of Saudi Arabia, which presents Saudi factories with 60 percent of the total with cumulative investments greater than $66.7 billion.
