BBK announces the resignation of Mr. Murad Ali Murad

BBK announces the resignation of Mr. Murad Ali Murad, from his position as Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Bank, due to personal reasons. His tenure as Chairman will conclude on March 27, 2024, following the upcoming General Assembly meeting. The Board is actively engaged in the process of appointing a Chairperson of the Board of Directors who will be leading the Bank into the future. The newly appointed chairperson is scheduled to commence duties after the General Assembly meeting on the above mentioned date.

Mr. Murad Ali Murad played a pivotal role in the Bank’s achievements over the past years, contributing significantly to its development and the growth of the banking sector in the Kingdom of Bahrain. He has been instrumental in nurturing Bahraini talents for leadership roles and has achieved numerous milestones.

In light of this news, Mr. Murad Ali Murad thanked BBK’s Board of Directors and all the employees of the Bank for their efforts and loyalty to have contributed to the success of the Bank and its position as a leading financial institution, serving all the different sectors of the economy in the Kingdom of Bahrain and the GCC.

On this occasion, Mr. Murad said, “I am proud of the financial strength the Bank has achieved over the years, its strong shareholders’ equity and high liquidity position, the diversification of its activities as well as its excellent performance that allowed it to compete locally and regionally. This was only possible thanks to God Almighty, the support from His Majesty the King of the Kingdom of Bahrain and the constant guidance of His Royal Highness the Crown Prince and Prime Minister. These achievements were also the fruit of the Bank’s employees’ commitment, especially the Bahraini executive management teams, who have been successively and since 1987, leading the Bank; I am proud to say that the Bank’s results for 2023 are the best indication of the Bank’s financial strength and resilience, ensuring its growth and sustainability with the continued expansion and diversification of its business.”
